Surprising addition. July 17, 2004 15 out of 19 found this review helpful
Having read all of the Alex Delaware books before this one in sequence I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary. I have liked all of them (so far), but none of them stood out as great to me.This one changed that, to me it was the best of the lot, there is a genuine sense of impending tragedy about the whole thing, as the plot creeps forwards. It's probably because it isn't like the others in that it isn't based around a patient that Delaware is currently treating, instead he appears to be being stalked by a killer. Excellent stuff.
Fantastic Read!! February 8, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I first read this book after I borrowed it to take on holiday. I'd read other books like this and I hoped that this one wouldn't disappoint. It didn't. I could not put this book down and I had finished it in 2 days.It follows a criminal psychologist called Alex Delaware who gets sent a tape of a child screaming the words 'Bad Love'. Other strange things begin to happen and Delaware has to rack his brains to find out where he has heard the words 'Bad Love' mentioned before it's too late and he becomes the next victim... Gripping from start to finish, a must read for any fans of psychological thrillers.
A good read but a little slow to start and quick to finish June 20, 2001 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book takes a little time to get going as we are introduced to a few seemingly unrelated fragments of information about 'Bad Love'. Although it can get a little confusing keeping track of all the people involved, a story is slowly revealed of a serial killer targeting psychologists seemingly unrelated except for a single academic conference. As Alex Delaware struggles to understand who and why the race is on to stop the next murder and his own. The last 50 pages seem to satisfy the mystery just a little too quickly, but overall the book is a good read and I hope to keep reading more of Jonathan Kellerman's books.
