I liked it.... July 3, 2008 After reading the very mixed reviews I was in two minds as to whether I should bother to buy and read this book but am glad I did.
In true James Patterson style I was prompted to keeping turning the pages, reading the short chapters desperate to get to the end. All in all I enjoyed it and would recommend fans or first timers to read it (it's a stand alone story so you don't need to have read any other JP books).
For me, the mark of a really good book is whether or not I keep it to read again in a couple of years or so. I have a collected the Alex Cross series and also some of his other stand alone books but won't be keeping this one. It's good but not that good.
All in all, an enjoyable read but would be inclinded to purchase a 2nd hand paperback rather than a brand new hard back.
Dreadful rubbish June 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having read the excellent 'Cross' by James Patterson, I thought I'd found a very readable author and bought this book expecting the same.
I've just finished the first 13 chapters of this, however, and it's now in the bin. I've never read such cliched BAD writing in all my life.
How does this standard of work get published?... I could do better myself. (Perhaps I should ask James Patterson for a co-authorship deal).
Save your money and please avoid this waste of a good tree.
Disappointment June 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this is the worst book so far by James Patterson, normally his books are a real page turner but this is utter rubbish. Don't waste your money!
Another average attempt from Patterson and Co. May 26, 2008 This book really doesnt have anything new to say,and theres not a whole lot to be said about it that hasnt been said time and again about Pattersons recent efforts. It isnt too bad, it has to be said. I've read most of Pattersons latest offerings and have found them to all be much of the same but atleast theres a good idea behind this book. Ofcourse Patterson races through it so quick its hard to look into the story too much but thats what has become to be expected I suppose. I wouldnt exactly recomend this book but its an enjoyable read in parts that will take up a day or two.

This book is not filled with innuendo, which I've found in a lot James Pattersons books recently. The hostage situation is gripping, although for me, the ending was a little too late or a little too short. I felt the end happened really quickly, without building any tension. A little disappointing. A good book which I'm sure any James Patterson fan will enjoy as I certainly did, even with the short ending.
