5 out of 5 stars Excellent results   July 29, 2008
We have used this with our seven year old daughter for a period of seven months. She has gone from bottom of the class to top third in that time. The results have been fantastic. She has changed from a shy 'hates reading' child to someone who cannot get enough to read. I cannot recommend this highly enough. It instructs you to follow the directions to the letter, which we did - spending perhaps 15-20 minutes a day with the book.

5 out of 5 stars One small step...   March 28, 2008

After a year of total despondency, this great small book has really launched my dyslexic son's reading. Not only can he now read, but he wants to read and is happy to tackle new words with confidence. Brilliant.

After the school completely failed to help my bright 7 year old son to read properly, I was recommended this book by a friend who'd been through a similar experience with her son. This book has been a revelation. My son has improved so much with his reading that it is astonishing. Not only that, his self esteem has soured along with his confidence. The book is highly structured so has to be followed exactly but as it only takes 20 minutes per day it's easy to fit in around his other homework. It's not the most exciting thing to do - but I found that a sticker chart with a reward at the end of it works wonders to keep my son motivated. I shudder to think what would have happened if we hadn't found this book, but just thank goodness that we did.

My son now 13years was tested by oxford prof 6 years ago for dyslexia - she recommended this book and it saved my son's educatiion.Yes YOU have to sit down together and work through the book but the outcome is out of this world. My son is now in the top set for english and i still cannot quite believe it.In primary school i was told he would struggle just to keep up with the bottom percentage of children. If you have a gut feeling that your child is falling through the education system and that the teaching is not helping then please buy, rent or get your nearest library to order a copy. My son is now a level 7 student and i put it all down to this book and the prof in oxford who told us that dyslexia is a small word for a whole range of little problems.
