5 out of 5 stars Loved it!   August 7, 2008
I found this book to be brilliant. You can't think too much about how YOU want the story to end because at the end of the day, this is the way that Stephenie Meyer wanted to finish the series and I think that she should be congratulated for being able to accomplish what she wanted to. This is not the first vampire story to say that it is impossible for vampires to have children, and then they magically manage to do so. Just look at the Angel and Buffy TV series'.
Overall, the book is well written with a gripping plot, and there is no way that Stephenie Meyer would have been able to write an ending to such a brilliant series that all of her fans would love, so get over it - this is the only book we are going to get so live with it.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect ending.   August 7, 2008

Before I start thank you to those in other countries who got the book before UK and bascially put the plot in their damning reviews without any warnings. Please be a bit more considerate next time.

Anyway, really can't see why people have slated the book so much, I thought it was well written and so in character of the other books. I couldn't put it down. Great storyline and plots. Made me laugh out loud in places. Basically great. Only downside is that I finished it.

3 out of 5 stars I dont even know what to say   August 7, 2008
After finishing this book I cant help but feel dissapointed with this.

SPOILERS

I kept with the book for the first few chapters of Bella, enjoying the typical Bellaness and the wedding that I believe everyone imagined. Perfect right? I even went along with the pregnancy for a bit finding it interesting but then everything just went wrong wrong wrong. I remember reading a fanfiction with a E/B pregnancy and finding it laughable.

Im not going to say its all bad, there are moments when it's good. But after the tone of the previous books and their success you have to wonder why SM changed it now. It just doesn't seem to follow and flow on from the other books. That realism has dissapeared, and all the Edward, Bella, and Jacob stuff is just sorta thrown out the window just going 'Yeah they sorted it out now, done!'. Also I cared nothing about Nessie, whilst i joined every other fan and Bella in the love of Edward and Jacob I found if anything Nessie just didnt fit. She didnt work for me. I liked the end the however, it felt after all the mess in the middle of the book could forgotten and it went back to feeling like the twilight series again.

I dont think this book is at a complete loss but part of me hoped for something different which matched and followed on more from the other books. The tone of the other three has been lost and replaced with bizarre twists that although surprising yes dont really work. So honestly and although I hate to do it and am annoyed at all these months of anticipation I may have to push this book aside and just stick with the other three which I love.

4 out of 5 stars read with an open mind! and think fantasy   August 7, 2008

the moment i picked up TWILIGHT i got about 4 chapters in to it and was finding it slow and crap but i kept reading curious about how it would end after that i was hooked ***

NEW MOON was great i couldnt put it down it was quick reading and exciting far better than the first, the friendship that grew between bella and jacob was realy touching and it expanded all through the book
i also liked how it had a whole chunk of edward out of the picture *****

ECLIPSE was my favorite of the three it had me howling with laughter and then almost crying at some points, the competitiveness between jake and edward was amusing, it went though allot of the history of the cullens and the wolf legends which i though was very interesting
but it annoyed me slightly that bella never realy cared for what she was giving up. *****

BREAKING DAWN has been a good read however not as good as new moon or eclipse which had you hooked from start to finish. B.D started off icky with the offset of character but it picked up at the next chapter, and gradulaly picked up as it went along. when i got to the part from jacobs pov it made the whole book more alive seeing outside of bellas fairytale lifted the book allot and although there was a character intoduced that i immediatly thought would kill the book (possible reaction because i read negative spoilers from the american amazon site which looked at the book with more reality than fantasy) but i pushed the negative thoughts aside and read with open mind and i must say S.M strange imagination made the whole story tie up nicely.-and i dont even like happy ever afters- i was dissapointed that i was deprived of action i hoped would happen but it wasnt a huge dissapointment. ****

(i must admit i did prefer jacob over edward in the books and did secretly hope the twist would be bella chose him over her vampire prince although i knew it wasnt going to happen =P )

i think S.M has added a fine saga to my bookshelf and the library collection
