Enjoyable April 17, 2008 This is a between the numbers book. It isn't really a novel, more of a novella, probably a couple of hours worth of reading at most. It follows its predecessor, 'visions of sugar plums' which was based around Christmas and had a slightly supernatural feel. This one is set around Valentines day with much the same themes and ideas. Here Stephanie is partnered by Diesel, a possibly supernatural guy who chases some of the more oddball, weird and less threatening figures than in the regular Plum series.
This is fluff, but it's entertaining fluff, and if you enjoy the Plum novels there's nothing here not to like. It's still amusing, still pacy and still crime-lite.
Good little read March 13, 2008 This is exactly what it claims to be, a between the lines. Not quite the finished class as the numbered books but something to read between them. Funny and fast paced took me a day to read, but I was left feeling I wanted more. Will buy the next one, if only to find out how the next holiday occasion get's Plum'd!
nice little story August 1, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
this one is a little filler novel, fitting in between 12 sharp and lean mean 13. its valentines day and stephanie needs to help diesel (from visions of sugar plums) with some matchmaking. the usual characters appear and stephanie does things in her own haphazard fashion. nice to see her do something nice for people and her car doesnt get blown up!!!!
Disappointing March 12, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I love the Stephanie Plum novels and buy them as soon as they come out. However, I was extremely disappointed with this one. It is far too short and not a great deal happens. Despite some funny parts it lacks the humour of all the other books and the plot is dull. This is a shame as Janet Evanovich is a talented author. However, I feel that overall this is a blip and I am looking forward to reading the next one.

Read this the day it arrived and it is great!A true Plum classic. the story really develops quickly and Janet manages to keep Diesel and his fellow Unmentionables on this side of fantasy. Great characters and Stephanie is on top of the situation whilst having only the vaguest idea of what she is actually doing. Definelty an excuse to stock up on doughnuts and marchmallos hot chocolate and find a room you can barricade yourself into, . or simply run the bath, add some bubbles and get a damn good bottle of wine on the go
