5 out of 5 stars gripping   June 9, 2008

Unbearably sad in places and just gripping. Good to follow the relationship between Fenwick and Nightingale although the personal lives of the characters took second place in this book to the plot and the fate of the boys concerned. Made me very angry at times that such people as Edwards clearly do exist.
