The ...in Death series, written by Nora Roberts features Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke and is set in a mid-21st century New York City. The stories also includes other characters, including Captain Ryan Feeney, Detective Delia Peabody, Detective Ian McNab and Dr. Charlotte Mira. The series is ongoing and will go on as long as Roberts desires to write it; however, she has famously stated that the series will never contain one of Eve and Roarke's children, as the series will end with Eve's eventual pregnancy - which is nowhere in sight at the current count. Dead of Night has 4 stories by 4 very talented authors. J.D. Robb has Eve and Roarke on a new case and they must catch a serial killer before he strikes again. Mary Blayney takes us back to Regency England in 1805 to solve a mystery. Ruth Langan's story proves that true love goes across all space and time. Mary Kay McComas shows us not to take the life we have for granted.

-- Mary Blayney's Amy and the Earl's Amazing Adventure is, well, an amazing story. Amy Stevens wishes she could stay in England, but she is due to go home to the states soon. She receives a mysterious coin, meets a man and they go back in time to his ancestral home. Simon has been searching for the coin for a long time. He feels it holds all the answers to his problems. He needs to find out what happened all those years ago to a family painting. If he could find it, it might solve their financial problems. Simon doesn't believe in magic but he does believe in Amy.

-- Timeless by Ruth Langan has Laurel Douglas vacationing in Scotland and touring MacLennan Fortress. When the lights go out she is snatched from the present and taken to the fifteenth century by a man who claims she is his wife. Con, the first laird of the MacLennan Clan has been searching for his wife for years. She was believed to have been murdered but her body had never been found. They have loved each other since childhood and vowed to love each other for eternity. Laurel tries to convince Con that she isn't his wife and that she doesn't belong in his time. Con knows his love for her is eternal.

-- Mary Kay McComas's On the Fringe is a story about what could be. What if you could do your life over, what choices would you make? Bonnie and Joe have been married for years, over time, they have grown apart. Joe decides to move out and give each of them some breathing room. Bonnie's world turns upside down when she finds the carpet her aunt sends her to the attic for. Her aunt always claimed it was a magic carpet. The carpet shows Bonnie how her life could have turned out. She has to find a way to get back to her real life.

-- Dead of Night has murder, mystery, love, magic and ingenuity in all of the stories. They kept getting better as they went along. In each of the stories, you have an idea of how they will end. Don't fall for it, they all have a little twist at the end that you won't be expecting and it makes the stories even better for it.
