3 out of 5 stars A short revenge story on author's familiar themes   July 28, 2007
Written under a Quick Reads sposored programme for Welsh authors, the well established writer Niall Grifiths contributes this 70 page short story. On the familiar themes seen in his earlier works of travelling the underbelly of society with drugs and criminal reference points, with the main character seeking refuge in Wales with an Englishman criminal on his trail in a neat little revenge story.

Griffiths' story hits well on two themes - the complexity and emotion of Welsh small village life and a revenge story which takes the riskier route of continually revealing all the twists and turns as they occur rather than hiding them, in keeping the pace up.

An enjoyable short journey read if not one of the writer's best.
