5 out of 5 stars Hysterically funny   June 20, 2002

This double cassette of the 'antidote to panel games'is also a wonderful antidote to boredom and gloom. It comprises of three shows, and a 'documentary' on Mornington Crescent, which is presented by Raymond Baxter.

All three of the shows are incredibly funny, and all the regular games (Cheddar Gorge, Mornington Crescent, One Song To The Tune Of Another, Complete Quotes) are there, as well as some less well known rounds (Lyttleton Country, Just a Minim).

This tape will be appreciated by people of all ages, whether or not they have any idea who the panelists are (although Goodies and ISIRTA fans are certain to enjoy it). I can't recommend it enough, and if enough people buy it, hopefully the BBC will take the hint and release it on CD.

If you are considering buying the best of British comedy then stop there. This radio show is the most consistently funny on radio and the participants on this tape (unfortunately Willie Rushton died around 1997) demonstrate the wonderful comic chemistry between themselves and Humphrey Lyttelton, the show's host.

Please do buy this!

5 out of 5 stars Well, as Samantha pops out back for a mouthful of Jacobs...   November 4, 2001

Brilliance.
Humph and the 'gang' execute some excellent innuendo here, and there's generally a good feeling in the studio, where they have 'amassed a capacity crowd of 700, odd people'.
The tapes are packed with light hearted banter and brilliant improvisation. My favourites are 'mood music' ("Wait! I must... put on these flares!"), and the round of newly sponsored game shows, especially Importance of Being Earnest - sponsored by McDonalds. "Hello, welcome to the importance of being Ronald".
I will definately buy more tapes from this series, as they can make you smile whenever you turn them on! And especially brilliant performaces from Humph, the host, and the late Willie Rushton.
A recommended purchase!

5 out of 5 stars The funniest thing ever to be broadcast!   June 5, 2001

If you have ever listened to ISIHAC on the radio you will already know what a gem of a show this is. Humphrey Lyttleton excels as host and the panellists are excellent too. Be wary about listening to this in your car because it will make you laugh so much! It's just a shame there arent more of the episodes available to buy considering there have been 37 series.
