5 out of 5 stars A Level Economics Teacher Central London   June 19, 2008
This really is an excellent book for teachers and bright A Level students. Most textbooks just repeat the same old familiar stuff; this one gives you something extra and it is invariably interesting. I have taught A Level economics for 10 years and this book has given me new insights into theories that I had never heard before. I read it from cover to cover and realised that I had encountered a fellow enthusiast who also loves the subject. One word of caution though: it is not a book that will do for students new to the subject as it is too advanced. But if you are a teacher or A grade student buy it and enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   November 7, 2006

It is not with this text, but with the Heinemann AS and A2 Economics books for AQA where you want to start when studying A-Level Economics. They will give you the basic understanding required to be competent enough to achieve the grade you desire in the subject. They will also provide you with lots of revision exercises and a very clear and easy-to-follow layout. However, this textbook explores the issues covered in the A-level Economics syllabus in far greater detail, and is rather more comprehensive and interesting volume to use for more advanced study. If you're serious about Economics, get this textbook as well the standard exam board specific ones.

3 out of 5 stars Quite good, but mostly for A2   February 15, 2006

The book has excellent overall information, however I think that any AS student reading this will be very confused, because AS and A2 material is not separated, and the large chunks of texts (sometimes up to half a page) will make it even more difficult to understand. It also contains extra, more difficult to understand for A2 students information, that is presented as required by the specification, although it is not.
In addition, there are no exercises or questions to test yourself, and those that are (a couple at the end of the chapter) have no provided answers.

2 out of 5 stars A bit of a disappointment   September 15, 2005

Overall something of a disappointment. The text is very good, clearly written, up to date, easy to read and with good diagrams, but a major weakness with this book is the lack of exercises and questions/tasks. At the end of each chapter there are some review questions (to which answers aren't provided), but nothing else. This makes it useful only as a theory resource, not a teaching resource.
