5 out of 5 stars Beautiful Yoga CD!!!!!   April 20, 2004

This is my first yoga cd I ever bought after having lots of videos andbooks, I don't understand why Amazon don't sell it anymore cuz it seemslike a successful product. Anyway I bought it from soundstrue website at afair price.I've done the cd twice already and I love it, you have lots ofpossibilities on these 2 cd's of tailoring your own workouts which shementions in the nice booklet, you also get a beautiful big poster of allthe asanas in the cd's by their order. In these yoga cd's there are a lotof challenging poses like in the balancing track, but the overall feelingI get from these cd's is very relaxing, probably because of Shiva'ssoothing voice and the beautiful music in the background, but youdefinetly get a good workout at a moderate pace.It is definetly a nicechange from the usual videos /dvd's we do since you don't have to squintat the tv!

4 out of 5 stars Suitable for both beginner and intermediate level students   August 25, 2000

The double CD covers pretty much everything from sun salutations A&B, standing and inverted postures, and stretching and relaxation. You can create/tailor your own practice, in terms of duration and what you want to cover, and examples of rounded sessions are given to fit into whatever time you have.

The CD comes with a poster showing photographs of all the postures, including the steps taken to get into and out of them.

Although I feel this CD could be used by beginners, to get the most out of it I would suggest that you attend at least a few classes beforehand, otherwise it might be a little too fast with not enough explanation.

For intermediates, you can tailor the sessions to cover whatever you wish, and can relax your mind not having to worry about which asana to do next and just listen to the instructions.

My only real criticism is that not enough attention or instruction is given to breathing throughout the CD, which to beginners is vital. I also found that I couldn't breathe slowly enough to keep in pace with the instructions, and was therefore breathing unaturally slowly. The music during the final relaxation was also too loud and distracting.

In summary, if you were to take out the music and speed it up a fraction, this CD would be very good.
