3 out of 5 stars OK   August 31, 2003

a good read, but it is more for the refrigeration engineer than an a/c engineer. a good section on compressors (which applies to both)and some good trouble shooting tables.
but over all, if you want an a/c specific book, look elseware.
saying that, i will use it for referance in future.

I purchased this book and read cover to cover. The only draw back I found was that all the units of measurement were for US and not Europe.

I also own the study guide that goes with this book, worth while purchase if you are studying for exams.

Excellent read.

I bought this book in DEC.1999 and found it would be a must have for the beginner or one in the HVAC field for a long time.

The chapters are well put together, and could be used in classroom or used as a self-taught guide

Who ever goes through this book will not be disappointed. Many diagrams to guide you.

I read this book and taught myself HVAC/R, I was working for $15/hour when I quit and opened my own business. I am now self-employed in the HVAC/R business and have never been to a trade school!

5 out of 5 stars A ONE-OF-A-KIND BOOK!   October 18, 1998
I'm a mechanical engineer, and have never found a so complete and easy-to-understand book. It focus on every aspect I have concern about, and is deep in theory and practical views for refrigeration and its basic principles. You should buy this book if you'd like to succeed in the field of refrigeration, it's just great!
