5 out of 5 stars Great Business Read   July 17, 2008
Really enjoyed this book - I like reading collections of business experiences and it's inspiring to read about when things haven't gone to plan. It's engaging and as others have mentioned, hard to put down.
Rachel is refreshingly candid about her experiences in business - including the Red Letter Day problems.

2 out of 5 stars There are much better books to be had   July 12, 2008
An interesting book on the surface but frustrating to read, as she just doesn't go into enough detail on the issues the entrepreneurs had and how they over came them to be really useful. I've also got to say some of Rachel's comments i.e. on doing business internationally don't seem relevant as by her own admission - she's never done it!
If your looking for a good book on business nightmares try 'boo hoo', James Dysons 'Against all odds' or 'Anyone can do it' the coffee republic story, these are all great!

5 out of 5 stars A must read for aspiring entrepreneurs!   May 19, 2008
I read this book cover to cover in a couple of hours (which is highly unusual for me!) For entrepreneurs or anyone interested in business I'd definately recommend it. There are valuable lessons to be learned in each chapter with interviews and tales of high profile entrepreneurs successes and failings, and most importantly how they over came them.
The story of Red Letter Days features throughout the book but doesn't dominate at all.
It's hard to imagine a more interesting or varied business book than this one!

5 out of 5 stars An absolutely cracking read   May 14, 2008

I was one of the people who turned up at Rachel's book launch and reading last Friday May the 11th and I was really looking forward to reading her book. I am now reading through it a second time and I would like to say a big thank you to Rachel for writing what has to be one of the best business books of the year. I think that it should be compulsory reading for all wannabe entrepreneurs, MBAs and other business students, as it covers the practicalities, the dos and don'ts of a business, from start up to exit.

5 out of 5 stars Inspirational!   May 12, 2008

This was a fantastic read. Rachel Elnaugh has turned things around for herself after Red Letter Days went into administration and now she is giving other business owners advice on how not to let it happen to you and how to get out of it if it does through interviews with others who have been through it and using examples from her own situation. The fact that so many well known entrepreneurs have been through the same thing is reassuring and lets even the worst situations glimmer with hope!
I read this cover to cover in a few hours one Saturday morning - I just couldn't put it down and was buzzing with ideas on finishing it!
