3 out of 5 stars A great book, good story   July 10, 2008

A great read, for young adults and adults alike. At first I thought, is this just an Alex Rider copy?? But as you get reading you find its not, its just as good and fast.
The new range of young adult boks are really making a change in peoples reading style.
The Alex Rider series, Fldgeling Jason Steed, Cody Banks and Young James Bond are all great novels.

5 out of 5 stars More than an Alex Rider rip off.   May 1, 2008

Jimmy Coates: Killer and in fact, ALL of the Jimmy Coates series has something special. This isn't your simple teenage boy super spy hero boy. Yes, there is that element to it that I think apeals to the younger teenage boy audience. But there is also something I've never quite read before. The concept of the part human, part killing machine. It's an astonishing read with great action for those looking for thrils and spills, but also a compelling read for those looking for a deeper message in a young teenage book. Jimmy Coates has to fight not only the enemies from outside, but his own nature. His own pre-programmed destiny. It's the ultimate battle of the struggle to understand the nature of who you really are deep down inside. Also, Joe Craig's study of Politics shines through in this book also, though some readers might not notice it. The story is built on a deeply politically corrupt ground and strengthens the notion that this book isn't just another Alex Rider rip off. This story is much, much more than that. Why not try it for yourself?

5 out of 5 stars Book review for Jimmy Coates; Killer By Joe Craig   April 22, 2008

When I picked up "Jimmy Coates; Killer" in the bookshop, I was intrigued just by looking at the front cover. That is why I bought it.
As soon as I had read the first couple of pages I knew that this was something that I had never come across before.

The idea of a genetically modified person becoming an assassin and working for the most advance secret service in Britain was an extremely good one.

I especially enjoyed the way that Joe Craig presented each section of the story; it was like he knew from personal experience.
Overall I would give this book 10/10 and recommend it to anyone who likes a lot of action and adventure.
