5 out of 5 stars We just love this book!   March 20, 2008

I only bought this book when Amazon recommended it whilst I was looking for a different one, but it couldn't have been much better suited to my son's taste. He loves touchy feely book and tends to lose interest in books that don't have some sort of texture in them. He also loves singing songs and doing little actions and it turned out that this book had all his favourites like 'The Wheels on the Bus' and 'Row Your Boat'. He was soon swaying along and humming little tunes. It has become an instant favourite. What a find! If your child likes the 'That Not My...' books then they'll love this.

5 out of 5 stars A brilliant book for babies & toddlers   November 13, 2007

I borrowed this from the library at first and my 8 month old daughter loved it so much I bought it. She is now 2 and a half and still gets it out to read almost daily. When she was younger she really enjoyed feeling all the different textures and hearing the rhymes and now we play at finding the little pictures in the big picture and counting the various things. I think the book's size and the fact that the textured parts are large really helps this be a wonderful book for babies/toddlers to enjoy. I now have a 4 month old and have already started reading this book with him. After 2 years even I am still not bored of it!

This has been a wonderful book. Even though my baby is only 6 months, he loves all the colours and textures. I highly recommend these range of books.

5 out of 5 stars My son's favourite   August 28, 2006

This book has been part of my son's bedtime routine almost every night from 5 months old to 1 year. He loves to feel the textures, turn the pages and poke his fingers through the holes cut between the pages. The pictures are bright, colourful and because they are simple, bold pictures, it is easy to show your baby a house, a bird, a cat, etc. Because this is a rhyme book, I have not become bored with it, as you can sometimes just read the rhymes straight from the book, and sometimes sing the rhymes and do the actions if you know them. Each double page features one big picture, illustrating the rhyme, on the left hand page, and then a series of little round pictures or textures on the right hand page. Each of the patterns or textures in the little round pictures, form part of the main illustration, so you can ask your child to search for the matching pattern. This is beyond my son at the moment, but does mean that there should still be some mileage in looking at this book when he is around two years old.
