This is OUR planet.....amazing! December 10, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is truly an amazing collection.....challenging one's prespective of the planet Earth! We truly live on an amazing planet and it is not often that we get a chance to stop, think, and appreciate all the beauty around us! I visited the exhibition (thrice) at the Natural History Museum in London, and I strongly recommended the exhibition, and the book. An absolute must see/have!!
Wow! Do I Live Here? October 4, 2006 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
A fantastic opportunity to see the world from a completely new perspective. Many views are unique and mystical. What a good idea! This book would definately make a lovely and unusual present for any age.
Absolutely Brilliant June 1, 2006 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This book opens up your eyes to a whole new world (Quite literally), through his use of brilliant arial photgraphs Yann Arthus Bertrand shows us a side of planet earth, tender, multicoloured, bright, dark and magical that in all likelihood has never been documented before. Some of these photos are truly amazing, making you yearn to visit the actual places and absorb some of the wonderous beauty that emanates through the pictures.
Personally I believe that every person that appreciates photography must own a copy, as should anyone with a passing interest in how our planet works, looks, feels and breathes.
Frankly it's a wonder that we pass much of this beauty by evryday or when on holiday.
From the densely populated cosmopolitan cities to the inner reaches of the Sahara, passing through the atoles of the pacific and the minarets of the Middle East this book will make you fly through an unimaginable landscape.
A brilliant buy.
