1 out of 5 stars Me too!   June 18, 2007

I did exactly the same thing as Philip and was very annoyed to find the same book but with a different title. I know publishers often change/update their book jackets (this has caught me out several times with Francis Fyfield) but changing the title too is underhand and sneaky. I gave the book away to my neighbour rather than attempt to send it back. Most cheesed-off!

1 out of 5 stars US Edition - but still a good book   November 22, 2006

To be fair not strictly speaking a reprint - merely the US edition. She's published by Random House in the UK and Penguin in the US. I'm fairly certain that Penguin are supposed to stop this edition from being sold here - the publishing industry's division of the world in to territories hasn't really caught up with the internet age! If you don't mind the US spelling you and haven't read A Venetian Reckoning in the UK edition you may as well buy this as it is usually cheaper. If you've already read A Venetian Reckoning or, like me, regard the letter "u" as providing an essential sound in words like colour and honour, then don't. The book is great and worth a four or five star review - just beware of what you're buying.

1 out of 5 stars "A Venetian Reckoning" published in 1995 is "Death and Judgment" 2006   October 12, 2006

A Venetian Reckoning was published in 1995 by Macmillan. I foolishly pre-ordered the "new" Brunetti to be published in Sept.'06 by Penguin thinking I was getting the 16th novel when in fact it is a reprint of the 4th. Very disappointing. Maybe Amazon could help identify reprints in their listings?
