| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Three seasons into Supernatural and brothers Sam and Dean Winchester are still attracting trouble. For the pair have a talent for battling the kind of spirits and creatures that are best kept locked away in nightmares--and it's fair to say their journey has taken its toll on them. As we join them in the third season of Supernatural, their travels and adventures take in a mixture of increasingly intriguing threats and foes. Among the highlights is a man who has become trapped within his own mind, the day that Sam continually has to live over and over again (Groundhog Day style) and a sinister threat to Dean that underpins much of the series. Not forgetting a Christmas episode with a bit of a different feel to it than your usual festive special... While the series was shortened a little due to the writers' strike that was ongoing in America while it was being made, the sixteen episodes in this Supernatural boxset nonetheless offer ample entertainment. Cleverly weaving together action, comedy and horror, it builds and improves on the second season, and while it may rush things a little come the finale, it's still a terrific and underrated programme. Here's looking forward to season four. --Jon Foster

Totally awesome July 4, 2008 This is the best TV programme ever! This season has been completely fantastic. Everything about it is brilliant - the acting, directing, writing, storylines, special effects are all awesome.
What I love about this show is that it has a lot of variety. It has horror, comedy, action, family drama, mystery and suspense.
I can't fault the series at all and I think they coped superbly with the writers' strike. The series is 16 episodes instead of 22 but they have ended the series as it was supposed to end and I really don't think that the strike has had a negative impact at all.
I think that this is the best series of Supernatural so far but I love the first two series aswell.
It is a real shame that this show doesn't get more publicity because I'm sure there are a lot of people that would love it that aren't watching it.
So if you love great drama then you should definitely buy this.
OMG July 4, 2008 well, this season had a great start but seemed to lose its touch in between because of the writers stike. the finale was great because as much to my surprise dean finally meets his fate. i always thought sam would be able to do something to help his brother but its too late. this season kind of felt like it was dragging on a bit. loved the lilth character. the homour was spot on as always great to see the chemistry of jared and jensen on screen. still i would recommend anyone to watch it. cos i still love it. cant wait to see what they have instore for the next season.
Short but ever so sweet!!! June 8, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I agree with the other viewers that it's such a shame that the season had to be cut short and that there was a hiatus...oh the pain! I feel that the finale suffered because of it and there is less flow to the season as a result. However, if you do take each episode as it comes there are some truly amazing moments. Season 3 could be very angsty but it has some great comedy moments with Bad day at Black Rock being a personal fave. LOL Another mention has to go to the genius of Mystery Spot, just a great idea. Then The Xmas episode was so cute. There were some low points, Ghostfacers could have been better and Bedtime Stories was a little lame. I didn't much like Ruby either but found that i loved Bela (i think I may be the only one!). One of the best episodes to date in the entire show has to be Time Is On My Side. It's not that it's particularly genius but it has everything it needs in it. I think that the producers and writers are finally listening to us. Dean headbutting, Sam rescuing the damsel in distress, gore, action, sadness...it rocked in so many ways, but why does Sam keep his shirt on throughout? (just a thought!)
As ever, I love the show and will continue to obssess over all the minutae of plot and where it's all heading in Season 4. What can I say about Jared and Jensen? Nothing that you're not already thinking....swoon...sigh and gasp! They just keep getting hotter and hotter til you're singing Dead or Alive at the top of your lungs with them. Keep up the good work Kripke and make sure you treat our boys nicely in Season 4!!!!
Just when it was getting good. May 29, 2008 This is a return to form after the angsty second season. It's just a pity there was a curtailed season because of the writers' strike because the new characters and storyline have really nailed this show down as a classic.
A Must Have! May 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Supernatural is one of the best series being aired at present, and Season Three is no exception. There's plenty to keep both the old fans interested and the new fans curious, and even though the series was shortened considerably by the Writer's strike some time back, the finale has more than made up for it. I'm on the edge of my seat for Season Four to start, to find out what happens! With as much humour and skilful tale-telling as ever, Season Three is a must have for all fans.
