Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review
South Park co-creator Trey Parker goes straight for the gross-out humour in this live-action farce set in the adult-movie industry. Parker stars as an innocent Mormon kid who gets sucked into the world of pornographic film-making and becomes an international sensation as the stud superhero Orgazmo, all the while hiding his secret life from his milk-fed fiancee. It's practically a one-man show for Parker, who directs, writes, stars, and even performs the self-penned theme song as frontman for his rock band, and perhaps he should have spread the responsibilities a little. As an actor he's surprisingly appealing--his dazed grin and bleached white surfer-dude hair give him an engaging air of innocence. Paired with long-time crony Dian Bachar, the diminutive actor who plays his superhero sidekick Chodo Boy, they bring a Hardy Boys naivete to the rude world of mobbed-up producers and jaded adult film stars. But the film is only fitfully funny, with vulgar jokes that are often more disgusting than humorous and clumsy comic timing sabotaging promising scenes. Only rarely does it reach the heights of his hilarious cut-out cartoon series South Park, but when he delivers he does so with the carefully cultivated tasteless excess his fans have come to know and love. Matt Stone co-stars as a clueless photographer while the real-life adult film star Ron Jeremy appears as a gross gangster henchman. --Sean Axmaker, Amazon.com

4 out of 5 stars Funny stuff   February 24, 2007

First of all, I'd like most of you who intend on buying this DVD to ignore one of the fellow reviews which talks about how the word "mormon" is wrong and that we're all gonna laugh our way to hell etc. I don't know what someone like that thought they were going to see when settling down to watch a film entitled "Orgazmo" and starring the creators of South Park as well as loads of porn stars. So if you're the kind of person who gets offended by things like Borat and things Monty Python's Life of Brian is some kind of gateway to hell or something, then don't watch.

As for the rest of you out there, who can take a joke, this is for you. It's very typical Trey Parker humour and is worth buying, if only for the "Now you're a man.." theme song at the start. Piss yourself funny! You'll see a few familiar faces and there are a lot of genuine laughs, but this film still might not be for some, even if you enjoyed South Park. Like I said, it's Trey Parker humour, but not entirely South Park kind of humour. It's a bit more simple idiotic jokes and practical gags. But hey, if you're young and like that kinda stuff like me, then this is for you! I bought this online after reading reviews and never having seen it before, and I loved it.

What are you waiting for? Add to shopping basket!

P.S. May I also reccommend: Baseketball and Cannibal! The Musical

5 out of 5 stars Sexcellent!!!   October 4, 2006

This movie is cheap, but very pleasent to watch. Its by no means a movie classic but it is excellent for watching with your friends and to cheer your self up. Trey Parker plays the mormon Joe Young suckered into doing porn movies perfectly, and this movie really takes the mickey out of porn and mormons. Its just rediculous at times and that is what makes it such a cheerful movie to watch.

My only criticism is that Matt Stone could have had a better or bigger role in the movie like he did in Basketball. Orgazmo is cheap, stupid and funny so i would recommend it to anyone.

1 out of 5 stars A sad excuse to hang out with pornstars   June 7, 2005

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

I'm a big South Park fan and Team America was genius, but this just doesn't have any of the satire from the animated creations. I remember loving Baseketball the first time round as well, although the second time it was a bit crap.

I must admit I didn't actually get through this, I switched off shortly after watching an elderly lady stimulating herself with her zimmerframe. What might have been funny animated badly just isn't funny acted badly. If that sounds funny to you then by all means give it a go, but don't say I didn't warn you.

3 out of 5 stars Good forgettable fun.   July 31, 2004

Orgazmo is in no way a classic, but if you are a fan of the south park series (like me) then its good fun.

The film is based on a naive young Mormon called Joe Young who is recruited to act in porn movies.

As it is against his religion the only reason Joe acts in these movies is so he can afford a wedding in Utah for him and his fiance.

Thats it really, the whole storyline was probably thought of in about five minutes but the laughs still come in thanks to Trey Parker's coarse jokes which can be hit or miss, and Choda boy's (played by Dian Bachar)hillarious quotes.

Its good entertainment and worthy of a look.

5 out of 5 stars Please Watch This Film!   July 5, 2004

You have to see this film! It may be very crude at times but it is absolutely hilarious!

Made by the duo behind 'South Park', it is equally as good as that cartoon series.

Set in the porn industry, a deeply religious young man decides to appear, very reluctantly, in a film to save some money to marry his equally religious fiance. Needless to say he is horrified at what he encounters, much to the viewers joy!

The acting is surprisingly great, the humour is both childish and crude but i cannot recommend this film enough!
