Wonderful characters and an excellent storyline. May 27, 2002 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was my first Susan Sallis novel and I was spellbound from start to finish. I didn't want it to end. The characters are so real and the story original, it has led me to enjoy more of Susan Sallis's novels. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!
Easy read, warm comfortable feeling book May 21, 2000 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book starts off in the 60's and you get a feel of the era as well. It covers the trials and tribulations of Hope and Jack and their girls right through to early 90's. They are befriended by the Petersens who at first seem as if they only want the best for their new English friends, but soon it becomes apparent that all is not as it seems! A very compelling read, which can be tear jerking at times. I am now a Susan Sallis fan!
