Probably brilliant at what it does, but... May 3, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
this is basically a collection of cartoon stories originally published in a daily paper. That is not entirely clear from the publisher's blurb. I remain to be convinced that the co-authors and publisher can reasonbly claim Ian Fleming as a co-author: other Bond authors Kingsley Amis (aka Robert Markham), Charlie Higson and Sebastian Faulks did not do so.
Talking about the blurb, I wince at the description of a "recon" mission. Bond would never have talked about "recon" - except perhaps to humour Felix Leiter, as it is an American term. He would have said "recce" - both being short for reconnaissance, or course!
