Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
A cream ceramic bread bin with a wooden lid in beech. Inspired by her day-to-day experience in the kitchen, food writer Nigella Lawson's kitchenware collection is both stylish and practical. "These are objects I wanted passionately for my own kitchen - that's where the collection came from. I've really enjoyed having the chance to design my own collection, working through the ideas with Sebastian and seeing them come to life."

5 out of 5 stars at last - the perfect bread bin (at a price!)..   June 28, 2008

Hesitated about spending so much on a bread bin but absolutely delighted.

Very roomy without taking up too much space - very attractive - and I love the fact that I no longer need a bread board lying around the kitchen. As you turn it over to cut the bread, the top does not get scratched and damaged so looks good after months of use - though it took some time to get the family to remember to turn it over each time!!

The best thing is that I finally have a bread bin that is easy to clean out and doesn't leave breadcrumbs everywhere - all my previous hinged-lid ones have annoying gaps that crumbs love to escape through!

Only problem is that I have a granite worktop and porcelain floor so have to be VERY careful not to let the bin slip, especially when lifting it to clean out - and it is quite heavy.

Reluctantto add to N.L.'s millions but she has done it again and this is a superb product......Interesting that it took a woman to come up with the best design!

1 out of 5 stars warped   May 1, 2008

we bought ours from John Lewis. The lid warped within a month, very frustrating. I took it back to the shop, who were evidently aware of the issue because Nigella had prepped them with a whole batch of extra lids, apparently in expectation of my (and others') visits. I took the new lid home but this warped within only a few days. Life then became too short so I took the whole thing back for a refund, readily given. Shame, because it looks lovely - but with a warped lid, it's pointless!

4 out of 5 stars Stylish and roomy   April 23, 2008

I spent a long time trying to find a bread bin that looked nice, would be easy to clean and could also hold a reasonable quantity of bread. This item succeeds in all of these areas.

I had the same experience as many other reviewers with this bread bin - the lids are not very well made. In addition to not fitting very well, the first two lids that I had split within a few days of delivery, which I do not consider is very acceptable with such an expensive product. My last replacement bin has been in use for around three years and has a good fitting lid that does not rock on the base - but I went to a store and checked the lid fitted properly before I bought it.

5 out of 5 stars I'm loving it!   November 8, 2007

I'm loving my Nigella bread bin. I ummmed and ahhhed for a while over spending 50 on a bread bin. But I took the plunge on the basis that I can fit 2 loaves in it. I'm really pleased with it. It's so roomy and I can fit loads in, a loaf of bread, some crumpets, rolls etc. so it does exactly what I wanted. It's also takes up less room than you'd think as it's tall rather than wide. The lid hasn't warped yet but I don't think I'd mind if it did as I'm sure it'll still look pretty darn stylish in my kitchen.

3 out of 5 stars nigellas bread bin   October 22, 2007

this is my second bread bin (my first one broke in two after I caught it on my worktop)and I must agree with all the comments regarding the bread board lid.The first lid is much thicker and appears to be more robust than the later models.I can only assume as with everything ,the manufacturers have found a cheaper supplier than before and we are being sold poorer quality at the same price.
