5 out of 5 stars Great book, shame about the editing.   August 5, 2008
This is a great book as others have said and really helps you to think correctly and positively about food. It is certainly the best book I have read on maintaining a healthy diet. One part I'm not sure about is that grains such as flour and rice are bad for you - for example, rice is a major part of the diet for many of the healthiest people on earth such as the Japanese.

It is no reflection on the author, but one frustration with the book was the editing. The book is full of spelling and grammatical errors - I spotted easily 50 errors without trying. You have to read some sentences repeatedly to work out the meaning, as some grammar or words are missing.

What can I say I bought this book just over 2 months ago and I have lost nearly a stone. A fairly painless procedure I might add. I had, like most women, read an enormous amount of diet books all promising the same thing and non of them worked. This one did, nuff said?!!

5 out of 5 stars Why doesn't every one know about this book?   August 2, 2008
I bought this book three weeks ago. I read it over two days and listened to the CD everyday. I have been out for meals virtually everyday, including leaving and birthday parties. I have been given boxes of chocolates and cakes- both of which I used to LOVE, especially cake. My eating habits have completely changed, so much so I have lost 6lbs WITHOUT TRYING.
This book is seriously good for all those of us caught up in the diet, guilt, cravings trap.
I will continue to listen to the tape and forget all about dieting...easy peasy because I know this is a way of thinking about food for life, in all senses.

5 out of 5 stars You Can Be Thin: The Ultimate Programme to End Dieting... Forever   July 31, 2008
I found this book most helpful. so far I've shed 3 kilos (in two weeks, only 2 more kilos to go) and I can definately say that it's down to this book. Marissa Peer gets you to analize your behavior and look at why you feel the way you do towards food, she then helps you to impliment changes. Her cognative style makes you believe this is the easiest thing to do in the world and I really believe this is the key to the success of the book. All you need to do is be open minded as you read it. I liked it so much that I've been telling everyone about it but I'm not going to lend them my copy as I re-read bits of it all the time. I think everyone should read this book, even if they are not over weight as it may help them to separate thier emotions from thier eating patterns, as it did for me. Buy the book and then enjoy the freedom of not being controlled by what's in your fridge!

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable...really works   July 12, 2008

Having tried so many diets I had given up and when I opened this book I thought..here we go again..someone else just writing a book to make money....but this is so different. My advice..don't promise yourself anything, don't do it in a rush..just read it and take it in. With diets you have to fix a time to start and at the first chocolate biscuit you feel you have ruined it and may as well give up..this is not a diet..no pressure to start or end or even do all of it..just do what you can..but I tell you this..after a few days of reading I started changing things on my shopping list and after one week I felt so much better, after 10 days I was a kg lighter, after 2 weeks I was 3kg lighter, have so much more energy and feel so much better about life and this is just reading a chapter a night and without dieting and without exercising. My sister wants a copy, my daughter wants to borrow my copy and I am ordering for friends.
