This book is a must for anyone doing the NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants. This book follows the course very closely, offering clear quidelines and a wealth of information. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

5 out of 5 stars All Teaching Assistants Should Read It   March 21, 2001

This is an invaluable book not just for new Teaching Assistants but old hands too. It covers all areas of the learning process in Literacy and how to help the children who find it not as easy as others. The guidelines for numeracy are just as clear. I only borrowed this from a course I am attending. I have asked our school to purchase their own copy to be available to all the Teaching Assistants. I would look forward to reading other material by the authors.
