Yes, it works February 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This endorses all the other reviews. I have had psoriasis for over twenty years, gradually getting worse over that time, to the point where I was pretty much covered in it. I have now followed the dietary advice in this book for 6 weeks, and the psoriasis has practically gone. I still have a little on my scalp and behind my ears (i.e. in the places where it started all those years ago) but everywhere else is clear. I have been pretty assiduous about the diet, although I still have one cup of coffee per day. I haven't taken enough exercise, and I haven't done the colonic irrigation stuff that the book recommends, but it's still worked. I feel much better, and am sleeping much better than I have in years. The book is very American and frankly quite weird in places but do not be put off by any of this. It does what it says it will do, i.e. it cures psoriasis, and when you've been plagued by this unpleasant, confidence-sapping skin disease, that's all you need to know.
Beneficial Reading for Anyone With Psoriasis May 16, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had psoriasis since I was 12 and over the past year, it flared to its worst ever, shattering my self-confidence. I found this book on a fluke while desperate for some help - conventional medicine with its harsh steroid creams wasn't doing the trick; indeed, it was making my skin so much worse, so I was ready to try anything. I wish that my doctors had told me years ago what this book suggests, namely that your diet is one of the main culprits associated with psoriasis. I had no idea that there was any connection - I thought that I had "just a skin disease", but in retrospect, it makes so much sense that what we eat would have such a significant effect on our condition. I have been on the regime for about 4 months now and in the last month or so, I have seen a real difference. The book warns you about the intense itching and the flare up that can occur as your body is detoxing - I definitely had that and my skin is still not clear, but it is much clearer, which is a start. I have followed this diet pretty strictly although I do find it difficult to give up my glass of wine with dinner and I occasionally need some coffee in the morning and I'm still not exercising as much as I should, but other than that, I haven't felt deprived and I have actually lost a ton of weight. It's not necessarily a cure, but it is a good start and it does seem effective in at least managing the disease. I would recommend it, although be prepared for it to be difficult at times (ie, when your friends question you rigorously about why you won't eat that slice of pizza). I would recommend this book, I wish that I had had it ages ago when my skin first started to flare up. Good luck.
A must i promise August 30, 2005 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
This book is a must for anyone with psorisis. I have got psorisis and i have part read the book so far. I have started to apply the advice and what the book states is very true. I also take aloe vera for healing. My psorisis has started to dissapear and it is down to this advice in the book. If you want to get rid of it then buy the book but it does take dicipline and drink lots of water. The bottom line psorisis is a build of body toxins and the book explains how to detox your body but it does take time beleive me. BUY THIS BOOK YOU WONT REGRET IT.
Sceptical at first........ June 26, 2002 28 out of 29 found this review helpful
Suffered for last 14 years. Tried all conventional methods. Polytar/sunlight/creams etc to no great effect. Doctors told me that "..I would just have to live with it." Have been sticking to books regimen more or less for the last 3/4 weeks with excellent results. My initial scepticism has gone out the window. Its not a quick fix and requires continuous application of the regimen but it is 100% worth the effort. The rate I am healing I am hoping to be all clear in 3-4 months max. If you really want to get rid of Psorsasis/Ecemza then definitely buy this book but it does require discipline.
A very informative book covering a very restricted diet. February 19, 2002 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
The style of writing is easy to follow, much more so than the complexities of the diet which forms the basis of the healing. You have to have suffered before you're going to accept this strict regime - but most reading this book will have suffered and may be desperate - I know I am.
