Tasty, easy recipes August 9, 2008 I got this in preparation for weaning my daughter who is 11 months at time of writing. Every recipe we have tried has been a winner and mum & dad have even enjoyed some too! I would recommend Gina Ford's weaning book alongside this one as a more comprehensive guide to actually going about weaning. This is better for the recipes.
Unnecessary to feed your baby purees August 5, 2008 1 out of 8 found this review helpful
Annabel Karmel maintains that purees are necessary even when starting weaning at 6 months, however there is no scientific or research basis for this. Purees are totally unnecessary and an unnatural way of introducing food to babies. Babies of 6 months plus can eat normal finger food with their family at the table- there's no need to play 'aeroplanes' or spoon mush.
Buy this Baby-led Weaning: Helping Your Baby Love Good Food instead and it will tell you all about how babies can feed themselves to start off a healthy, positive relationship with food.
Excellent easy and tasty recipes July 24, 2008 This book is excellent! The recipes are categorised by age and gradually introduce your baby to new tastes and textures. The recipes have simple and few ingredients and are easy to follow. I followed the meal planner but found it a bit ambitious, but I just adapted it to when my daughter was ready for new tastes. She's 7+ months now and really loves mixed fruit and vegetables, braised beef casserole and will eat anything with cheese sauce. This is the only recipe book you'll need when starting weaning. I only wish I'd look as neatly turned out as Annabel when I'm cooking batches of food for my baby!
Such a help with those worries about weaning June 26, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was quite apprehensive about weaning before I started; I didn't have a clue how or what to start with. So I decided to purchase this book, and was so glad with my purchase. It gives great guidleines on the weaning process, which many simple to cook recipes and ideas. I don't know how I would've coped without this book!
Quick, easy & healthy recipes April 29, 2008 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
Lots of quick, easy & healthy recipes. I didn't have much of a clue about weaning and found this book a godsend. My baby is now 11 months and I have used this book for cooking his meals since he was 5 months old. I am still using it just about every day. The recipes are so good we have even made family meals from them! Highly reccommended and worth the money.
