Journal for I can make you thin August 12, 2008 Excellent book I have been using this for over 2 months now and it has helped me lose over one and half stone. You can eat what you want and still lose weight as long as you are hungry. It just seem to click with me and it has changed my eating pattern for good. A good companion book to I can make you thin.
I can Make You Thin Works June 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought 'I can make you thin' in November 2007. I listened to the DVD every day for a week and read the book I have lost 2 stone and tell every one I meet how I lost it. It's because it's NOT a diet but a change of eating habits.I am now on the 'You can Quit smoking',I smoke 30/35 a day and have done for 57 years...I will let you know how I get on. Thanks Paul Mckenna You are my Hero x
Online version would be good September 23, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is OK as a prop for McKenna's method: it occurs to me though that an online version that you could check in to anywhere would be a good idea : ).
BUY THIS JOURNAL!! You will notice phenomenal changes your body image, your relationship with food and LOOSE WIEGHT!!!!!!!!!!! June 23, 2007 59 out of 62 found this review helpful
I brought this book as a companion to Pauls weight loss system audio set and the original book `I can make you thin' (I highly recommend these also) to lose some weight, get out of bad eating habits and to feel happy with my shape. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Each day of this diary you get a very helpful exercise to do to help you build a better relationship with your body and great tips help you on this journey. In addition you are able to check off which parts of the program you carried out during the day (very helpful) which helps you keep on track. You are also asked to write down a positive thing you have noticed each day and what you're looking forward to the next day (really helps to motivate you, and after a few days focusing on the positives- you get positive results!). I found the journal especially helpful on those days that things don't go according to plan. It helps you to reflect on this, brings you back to now and helps to you to keep up the new habits until they become second nature (which they do!) Generally Paul's weight loss system which this journal is based on is brilliant. It has helped me to break old eating habits (e.g. over eating and not stopping when full, eating unconsciously, eating quickly, and eating for other reasons than actual physical hunger). In addition it is NOT a diet, and it has changed the way I think about food. On diets I have tried in the past, the minute a food is forbidden you just want it even more! With this system you can eat what you like as long as you follow the golden rules. At first it feels strange to be able to eat what you want and still lose weight. It doesn't have to be hard like diets have brain washed us into believing. At first I found that I had to consciously focus on carrying out the habits you develop, and on some days I fell off the wagon and forgot to use the techniques. However as Paul says this is likely to happen and the main thing is to keep going and they soon become automatic. I am halfway through this diary and had already noticed some significant changes. I'm completely happy with the way I look, my skin is better, I'm in control around food and don't find it an issue anymore. And the best thing is I've dropped a dress size without having to go on a diet and eating what I want! The most important thing is to follow Paul's instructions EXACTLY and you will notice incredible changes that will last forever. If you're reading this Paul, thank you for this journal and weight loss system-It works!!!!:)
Mind-Body Re-Integration March 21, 2007 51 out of 56 found this review helpful
This is an inspiring technique for a genuinely holistic approach to food. There is no diet to 'start' or 'break' or focus madly on, no guilt, no shame, no puritanical self denial. Through the 90 day process, you are slowly building and cultivating a *permenant* change in the way you feel about, and respond to your bodys' needs for food. Daily, through the checking and re-checking of previously unconscious and perhaps even compulsive behaviours, a harmony is restored between mind and body. It's very calming and centering process, and I suspect following McKennas guidelines around food, could have far reaching positive consequences for *anyone* (with or without weight issues) who suffers with stress or emotional tensions. This isn't just a book for fat people, it's a book for anyone who may have a negative relationship to their body-image or to food. I like that the innate wisdom of the body (the fact that your own body really knows exactly what it needs) is being restored to it's rightful place of authority. The human body, like that of wild animals, knows exactly what it needs and doesn't need, in order to stay in a perfect 'energy in / energy out' balance. We are reminded that we don't really need a Dr. Gillian style Schoolmistress telling us off, just slow down and listen to your own body, it's already quietly telling you everything you ever needed to know. I've lost half a stone in the first month, I've had several days when I've overeaten, I've missed listening to the CD, I've not exercised... On other diets, I'd have felt I'd 'blown it' and given up, but returning to the journal definately helps to remind you that the occassional blur doesn't matter, it's ok, just keep going. This is a 'diet' that I am happy to say, I intend to remain on for the rest of my life... Now I can't think of any other diet, that I would dream of saying that about.
If you hate your body, or have food issues. Give three months of your life to McKennas process. Get the book & CD, and get the 90 day Journal, they make an excellent team.
