Simply the BEST July 18, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Thanks Girls for this amazing book. There is harldy any literature about women who are past fifty and still look incredible without being botoxed out of their brains - women who can be role models for us all - and this book is a shining example of beautiful ageing. I loved the gorgeous photos and the product info. Beauty Bible is great too, of course, but this is particularly relevant to that moment when panic strikes as you look in the mirror. Also good that the products are organic. Generally a good, informative, uplifting read.
A Bit of a Disappointment (but in a good way) !!! April 11, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
If you own the Handbag Beauty Bible and /or the Beauty Bible you may find a lot of the advice in this book repetitious, and therefore, a bit of a disappointment. If however, you are Fairley-Stacey virgins, you will find this book informative and helpful. Advice is given for those who like their beauty routines to include natural and/or organic products as well as "give me all the help you can using chemicals". My only other complaint is that there could have been a few more product reviews. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend (or buy them a copy !!!).
A Triumph! November 26, 2006 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
I am mesmerised by this brilliant book and couldn't put it down. Loaded with the best-ever tips, where these girls lead I am going to follow. Loved the inspirational women interviews. Every woman, no matter what age, should have this bible by their side.
A wonderfully comprehensive no-nonsense guide March 15, 2001 40 out of 41 found this review helpful
This book avoids the usual hype that surrounds the beauty advice given to mature women, and the advice given can be followed by any woman between thirty and ninety! The 'Tried & Tested' sections on products, from anti-aging creams, serums, moisturisers, make-up, etc. gave a totally impartial review, as the products were 'blind-tested', which is far more helpful than the promotional write-ups one normally reads in magazines. The book does not hard-sell expensive creams and products as the weapon against ageing, but advocates a more holistic approach to one's outlook, attitude, and lifestyle, with interviews with 'inspiring women'. The only hard sell is on growing old itself in the most flattering and enjoyable way one can!

This is the only Top-Notch anti-ageing beauty book on the market. Why? Because it reviews over a thousand anti-ageing products and in the most important categories blind tests them on over a thousand women. For instance, each anti-ageing skin cream (over 100 of these) is blind tested by ten women and the results - the Winners - are carefully reviewed. So you can find what really works. Interesting to note that some of the cheapest products on the market scored rave results. But this book also takes an holistic approach to ageing. Written by two knowledgable, long time health journalists, it discusses everything from Yoga to Cellulite, Bach flower Remedies to Vitamins. And its beautifully produced, with plenty of gorgeous photos of the over 50s and lots of inspiring insights from the likes of Lauren Hutton. I'm only 32 and I bought this book as a gift for my mother but I've ended up keeping it. It holds the key to my fabulous future.
