The Greatest Flower Show on Earth May 27, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book makes the ideal companion for anybody going to the show or returning as a novice. It gives an easily digestible history of the show, lots of stats for the nerdy amongst us, as well as interesting background information about the organisation of the show as a whole and the sort of preparation that individual exhibitors have to undertake. One of the most interesting bits for me was reading about changes that had to be made to keep a show garden within the sponsor's allotted budget and finding out what happened to the acres of canvas from the last two marquees before the new, modular Grand Pavillion was introduced - you'll just have to read it to find out!
