5 out of 5 stars Soooooo helpful   February 28, 2008
This book and 'Cesears way' have become bibles for my partner and me. We hadn't had a dog before so were pleasantly surprised to find that alot of our ideas were being used by Cesear :-). We now have more ideas, confidence and it appears, a happier dog - which has got to be what everyone is after!
Immensley helpful and a really enjoyable read - Cesear Millan is a star:-)

I have read 'Cesar's Way' and this one, and quite simply both should be mandatory reading for all dog owners. People who have never owned a dominant / aggressive dog really have no idea.
My problems really began in a local Pet Store when an assistant approached with a 'coo chee coo chee coo' attitude and wouldn't back off, my pup didn't like it but I allowed it to continue for the sake of politness. My position as 'Pack Leader and Defender' took a serious blow, thanks to Cesar Millan my position as Pack Leader is now re-established, and for anyone thinking that this is my first dog, wrong, I have owned many and trained many and read a multitude af training manuals, but this is my first dominant dog

Simply, Thankyou Cesar Millan

This book is amazing, Cesar is fantastic, a lot of what is in this book can be used and applied in every day life not only for dogs but humans too. Cesar is a diamond, he has much wisdom and a lot of common sense. Both books offer so much information that is useful. If you read no other book read this one.

5 out of 5 stars A Lot Can Be Learned   November 4, 2007

I have read both of Cesar's books and have really learned a lot from them. His techniques have impacted my dog's life. His 1st was a lesson in dog behavior and how to deal with their issues that usually lead to bad behavior. This new book helps both the dog and the human by establishing how to be the leader in your dog's life. He gives many examples of how to be a calm assertive leader as well as why this state of mind is so important. I REALLY recommend this book and the book "Understanding: Train of Thought" to all.

5 out of 5 stars Haven't read it, yet. . .   October 21, 2007

. . .but speaking as the owner of a breed that are not interested in treats or your praise, Cesar is not old-fashioned and outdated. Purely positive works for some, not all dogs. Old-fashioned does not mean cruel. Old-fashioned means discipline and the dog working for the pleasure of learning and working. People that insist that Cesar or Koehler are cruel either haven't read their books or are misunderstanding what they're reading. I read Cesar's other book and loved it. I wish he'd write one on raising children. Maybe we wouldn't need Nanny programs on TV.
