Fantastic July 5, 2008 If your a fan of Ray Garton already you'll love this novel as in my opinion its one of his best. If you've never tried Ray then this is as good a place as any to start. Ravenous is fast paced with great charactors that you grow attached to. I really couldn't put this book down.
A shocking and original werewolf novel. April 7, 2008 I absolutely loved what Ray Garton did for vampires in one of his previous novels "Live Girls" (which I also highly reccommend) so I was really looking forward to seeing what he could do with the werewolf genre and I have to say I am delighted! The story is set in the coastal California town of Big Rock, where a werewolf has moved to in order to infect the local populace with his lycanthropy. Like many of Garton's previous novels there is plenty of gratuitous sex and violence so it is certainly not a book for the faint of heart. But if you are a fan of Richard Laymon's work, especially the beast house novels, then you will love this. The story is well paced and Garton takes the time to allow the reader to get to know and appreciate the characters. All in all it is a great horror novel and an excellent addition to the werewolf genre.
