4 out of 5 stars Its all down to "risk assessment"   December 27, 2007

Its good to have these newspaper stories collected together in a little book. Every reader will have their own favourites but mine fall into food scares, political correctness and genuine H&S issues. Nearly all the issues arise (in my opinion) from inexperienced people misinterpreting the H&S laws or their bosses using H&S as an excuse to mask some hidden agenda such as cost-cutting. If it goes to a second edition, please include some pictures!

I was lent this book and have since gone out and bought myself my own copy!

A fantastic coffee table book to flick through (if you can resist devouring it all in one go!). Also I can imagine repeating a lot of these stories at dinner parties for years to come!

A cracking read! I got this for my birthday from a friend and I am dead pleased I received it. It was an amusing tour de force from beginning to end and has now been snatched up by my colleagues who saw it on my desk. I hope I get to see it again!

I would recommend this to anyone who has a sense of humour and likes a good giggle laughing at the establishment. Double thumbs up!

I also bought this book after hearing the author on Radio 4's Today programme and what a treat it was!!! I read it all in one go and it is now doing the rounds in my family and friendship circle.

I just hope the author does another book like this as I would buy it immediately. More please!

A word of warning - do not read in public for fear of spontaneous loud laughter and some very funny looks!

5 out of 5 stars A fantastically funny read   November 30, 2007

As a Local Government employee (for my sins!) I have witnessed these crazy Health & Safety regulations first hand and this book sums up the madness very succinctly!

To the person who gave the book one star - they obviously do not have much knowledge of modern life if they think these stories are made up or are urban legends. I know for a fact how nuts these Health & Safety departments can be and I have stories of my own I could easily add to the book.

Credit to the author for compiling such an absorbing and very amusing read. As B.Knox said, I too, shall be buying this book for friends and family for Christmas and heartily recommend others do the same!
