2 out of 5 stars Me, me, me   January 30, 2008

Okay, so obviously its about her pregnancy but she really was 'I feel so sorry for myself'. She seemed to get every symptom going but never really gave any good ideas on how to deal with them. And she had them worse than anyone else has ever had. It didn't make me laugh. I found Best Friends Guide much more interesting and helpful.

4 out of 5 stars A funny and HONEST take on pregnancy!   May 21, 2007

Okay, I admit that my first pregnancy wasn't too bad. I didn't experience any morning sickness, excessive fatigue, weird cravings and had very few visits from "psycho chick". Jenny would hate me. However, a little over four months into my second pregnancy I have not been quite as lucky, therefore I decided that this was the perfect time to pick up a pregnancy book that was honest but would also make me laugh and `BELLY LAUGHS' was just the ticket.

It seems that Jenny McCarthy experienced every side effect in the book (poor thing) from rashes and sever acne to pooping on the table but luckily she was brave enough to share her experiences with new moms-to-be everywhere! There were many times during my first pregnancy that I said to whom ever would listen "why didn't anyone tell me about THIS!?!?!?". Now I realize that it is because we completely block it from our minds to trick ourselves into doing it again! However, Jenny lays it all out here for new moms-to-be and assures them that we've all been there!

This book is a must read for new moms-to-be, those thinking about getting pregnant or those who want to remember what it was like. 'BELLY LAUGHS' will definitely be in my pregnancy survival kit for all of the new mothers-to-be in my life!

4 out of 5 stars Ripe with giggles   February 1, 2005

Hilarious. I won't say it's super-well-written, because it's not. But it's funny, as Jenny recounts her experiences of pregnancy and childbirth in great and graphic detail. Maybe not a book for the weak of stomach, or those who like a revered mystery about women's bodies or celebrities' private lives. (Also probably guaranteed to dissuade anyone who was just thinking, Oh, might have a baby. Sounds like fun. After reading this book, I know pregnancy isn't to be entered into lightly!)
