2 out of 5 stars Excellent first half. Disappointing second half   February 11, 2008
3 out of 5 found this review helpful

The first half of the book is concerned with preparing for a zombie attack, fortifying your hideout, choosing weapons and fighting the undead. It is played completely straight, is highly informative and absolutely hilarious.

The second half of the book is a collection of 'documented' zombie attacks, and isn't nearly as good as the first half. It all seems a bit random, isn't all that engaging, and crucially isn't particularly amusing.

Overall the book is okay. It's a short read at about 240 pages but it's badly let down by a second half that just feels like padding.

4 out of 5 stars Not what I expected!   January 11, 2008

I ordered this for my husband and it's just arrived and I'm extremely disappointed that the cover is a completely different design. Instead of being the poe-faced stark cover advertised, it's a rather vile shade of red with a tabloid style title splashed diagonally across.

Maybe I'm shallow but I even bought a more expensive version of "I am Legend" by Richard Matheson to avoid getting the one with the tacky Will Smith cover.

Amazon, you should update the picture used to advertise this book (and be ashamed)

PS Great book though
