Im in the middle of reading this book and i cant out it down. It is very easy to read there arn't pages and pages that bore you to death but jokes on the bottom of each page to keep you entertained while it tells you why you are laughing and the history of human humour. Each chapter isnt long enough to tire you but gives you the info you want to know based around a certain subject and in between chapters are even more jokes set into groups like statistics jokes, doctor jokes and food jokes.

An exceptionally well researched, informative, well written and entertaining book.

Jimmy and Lucy are obviously two very intelligent people who like a laugh and understand why that's important.

I strongly reccomend this book...

And the Jokes are funny as well.

5 out of 5 stars A recipe for laughter   December 29, 2006

Some people are better joke tellers than others. In a hilarious book Jimmy Carr explores the art of joke telling, why stand-up comedy appears to be a male dominated profession, taboos on joke telling (with examination of Jerry Springer the Opera, the career of Lenny Bruce and faith adherents' sensitivities towards jokes).

Each page is laced with the jokes that Jimmy and his co author decided were their personal favourites so this book is both a joke book and an academic insight into the mechanics of humour.

I couldn't put this down. See what you think.

Not long now to the Book Release. This is one of the books i've been waiting for, for a while! Jimmy Carr is one the most OutStanding Stand Up comedians Britain has seen! I went to See him Live for his new show "Gag Reflex" and he mentioned the book. I fully recommend this book and at only a small price i say GET IT NOW, in the words of Jimmy Carr - You Ponse.
