3 out of 5 stars A Fun Read   September 1, 2007

A fun and easy read. Not a huge book, but for someone like me it was perfect.
You can stop and start every page and just jump back into it, as no rant is longer than 2 pages. It's not Bill Hicks, it's close, the punches are there but it lacks the unprecidented flavour he would add. One or two are abit cheesy. Some made me laugh. It's all relevant.. and it's important to continue what Bill was trying to do. There's plenty more to moan about these days so it's an interesting read. You're not gonna find anything new in here, it's more like Bill's old reutine but about up-to-date things. But.. still.. a fun read for any Hick's fan or p*ssed off civilian.

I have a contribution in this book. My royalites are donated to an animal charity which apparently was close to Bill Hick's heart and I believe many other contributors also did the same. Is the book funny? Some of it is very US-centric though wider issues do get covered. WHat is revealing I guess is that those who like Bill may remember him for one particular thread of humour, and this book does show just how many sides there were to Hicks' comedic talents, how many different personas he developed, and of course how hard it is to emulate them.
