Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A Highly Entertaining Read!!!   June 12, 1999
Though childless, I found Dr. Joseph Michelli's book "Humor, Play & Laughter" a highly entertaining read. I was particulary impressed with the "Activities" sections, which lacked the boring exercises found in other such books, replacing them with humor and joy. Dr. Michelli possess a fantastic sense of humor and fun - and nowhere does this stand out more than in the Chapters themselves. His treatment and respect for children as little people was very moving. The book kept me rolling. A reading MUST for caring parents, and those working with children.

5 out of 5 stars a fun and easy way to learn to enjoy being a parent   January 20, 1999
I enjoyed reading this book and trying to put it to use in dealing with my children. I have had the opportunity to hear Dr. Michelli talk and realize that he too, uses the things that he tries to teach through his book. Finally somebody believes that you can parent with humor and fun and not strict forceful anger. I would recommend this book to every parent.

5 out of 5 stars Where was this book when my parents had me.   August 24, 1998
A great FRIEND recomended that I read this book. Every parent should read this book Dr. Michelli has finally found a way to raise children without going to bed all stressed out. He has given me so many ideas that not only can I use with my Daughter, but also with the children at the school I work at. Now I not only know how to handle my daughter's fits when we're in public but have learned to be aware of what she needs. I've already started my calendar, and am on my way to stress free motherhood.

5 out of 5 stars Great Alternative Way to Look at Life with Your Kids!!!   May 18, 1998
This book gives you great insight into another way of looking at life with your children. Dr. Michelli stresses looking at the joy your children bring into your life and not just the hardships. He does it in a way that flows smoothly and is easy to read. It's one of those books that you are having so much fun reading (great real life examples!), that you don't realize til its over how much you have learned. Recommended reading for every parent.

5 out of 5 stars It is fun to read!   March 5, 1998
I am really enjoying this book. I discovered earlier this year that structuring situations for the family that are intrinsically hilarious was a wonderful experience for us. We had our Xmas picture taken this year with our dog and all had hairbands with antlers attached (including the dog). It was hoot from start to finish. This book has lots of ideas about stuff like that to do - in my opinion that is the best part of the book - as opposed to the advice part, which is less interesting and more like the typical self-help book.
