AQA and Nelson Thornes work together with the vision: "Bringing the new A'Levels to Life"
A glance at the cover of this book and you can see how exciting they think ICT can be. The rest of the book is also full of dull stock pictures and uninspiring cartoons (everyone male who uses ICT wears a shirt with a collar and often wears a jumper apparently)
I assume that the text covers everything but at no point does it become inspired or even particularly interesting. It has the feel of a book created as quickly as possible to fill a gap in the market. They've made sure there is a paragraph about each part of the syllabus then added a picture or two and that's it. The concept of adding entertaining facts or even humour to the subject has been missed entirely. The book also offers a few exam style questions but fails to provide the answers.
This is a real shame because with the new A'level about to launch this was a big chance to try and create a book that could bring A'Level ICT alive.
