They got it all wrong about the midgets June 8, 2008 An entertaining book for college/university students (and while I'm heading off on a tangent in my first sentence, what's all this 'we are in America' rubbish?) and others with a bit of a geeky sense of humour and a healthy view of belief structures. Unfortunately, it fails on several key points.
1. It's just a bit too smug 2. There are no protracted introductions to chapters telling the reader who begat whom. 3. Right at the start, Mr Henderson explains that the more of the FSM's attention he lavishes onto us, the shorter we are. And then the claim is made that there is antagonism between the FSM and midgets. The true chosen ones are miget pirates. This book is verging on heresy.
Quite funny spoof on creationism and intelligent design May 10, 2008 A few gems. Fortunately this doesn't seem as a big an issue to us as it must to reasonably educated Americans, but some of the chapters on proofs of the FSM's existence are good - especially the ones that come closest to the form of a scientific argument. Worth a read, and a nice present for any Pastafarians (followers of the FSM) that you know.
Throughly Disappointed May 2, 2008 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
I loved the website, the theory, the religion and the cult status, so naturally I rushed out and bought the book thinking I would love it as well.
I was wrong. This is probably the worst written book I've ever read, it makes less sense than my little sister's essays and I'm thoroughly disappointed.
I also found it very offensive, which is rare for me as I would consider myself to be exceptionally open minded.
I still love the theories of the religion but after reading this book I am no longer proud to call myself a pastafarian.
Enlightening April 30, 2008 Bobby Henderson is a Genius and True Prophet. I have Faith in Him. RAmen
Cursed be the followers of the Pasta-Demon! February 3, 2008 Turn away from your carbonara-worshipping ways before it is too late!
The Invisible Pink Unicorn(bbhhh) sees all you do and her righteous wrath will be visited upon all who turn to the Spaghetti-Beelzebub, and his unholy book, by the means of her Holy Horn!
