real let down July 21, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
i have always been a great admirer of lynn andrews work but this book appeared disjointed and a real let down. it had no flow and very little storyline .i felt it was purely a reflection on the old stories which in their own right were masterpeices . i felt ripped off after waiting for so long for a new book to be presented with old ideas jumbled up come on lynn surely you can do better . at the turn of every page i waited for something to happen yet again nothing . im afraid this books not going in my collection .
Magical once again November 29, 2001 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
After several years waiting, here is finally another of Lynn Andrew's books that returns us to the embrace of her teachers Agnes and Ruby. Through the immediacy of the teachings about death and transition this book appears almost emotionally rawer to me than her previous books that brought us the teachings of these beautiful empowered women. Although the brief recaps of events from previous books might seem redundant to those of us who have devoured all her other books, they fit the story line well and will be most welcome to the new reader who might want to begin Lynn Andrew's magical story telling with this particular book. The healing of the fear of death and change are a thread that has been running through all of Lynn Andrew's books since 'Medicine Woman', and is reaching its climax in this latest work. This feels timely to many of us who are struggling daily with the pain of fast-paced daily change. Like most of her books, it will take several readings to uncover the many layers of teachings contained in the story web she weaves around the reader. I hope this book constitutes a return to more stories that bring us closer to Lynn Andrew's work with Agnes and Ruby.
