Change your life ...at your own pace March 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I agree wholeheartedly with the rave reviews others have given this book/CD, and I second the notion that the "7 Days" part of the title is quite ambitious. But no one can predict how much reprogramming their own mind will need until the work gets under way. In my first few days of listening and reading, before I noticed any real changes in my outlook or my behaviour, I found myself looking forward to the time I would spend on this. So maybe there were changes already happening that were a bit too subtle for me to recognise them. Within about 3 weeks' time, there was no mistaking that my thought patterns were becoming more positive and now (about 3 months since I first bought the book/CD), it's clear that much of the content has stuck with me and plays itself in my head automatically. The big message is that you can't just spend 7 days and imagine that your life is "fixed." Buy the book and CD, use it steadily for a week, then come back to it from time to time to make sure you don't take a backward slide into old ways of thinking. The single most important thing that has stuck with me from this CD is that whatever occupies your attention most is what you will create for yourself. So you are the only one who can decide what that will be, but Paul's book and CD can certainly help make it positive and constructive. If you find you get tired of listening to the same CD over and over (which did happen to me after about 10 days), try alternating this one with Glenn Harrold's positive thinking CD, which is a bit more relaxing. (I like Paul in the morning and Glenn at night. ;) So off you go to change your life. Who else is going to do it?
Excellent Guide to Self -help March 20, 2008 This book is full of inspirational and easy to read advice, which include many different subjects, and in my opinion, is well worth investing in. The book's advice reminds you that you are in control. It gives clear directions, and it's process really can work very swiftly!
All of the excercises recommended in the book, prepare you to adopt a positive mind frame for your day ahead. My absolute favourite is the 'inner smile' excercise, which when practiced, immediately brings light and helps you to look at situations in your life from a new, relaxed angle.
This is my second review of a book written by Paul McKenna, and along with Elizabeth Bailey's 'SACRED SPACE', I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to improve themselves.
An excellent guide to self-development.
Thank you.
well worth the money ..plus free CD :) March 18, 2008 I bought this book having read the positive reviews.
I have to say I am glad I bought this book. Although it was cheap there was a CD stuck in the back of it too :)
It has not changed my life yet..but its soo easy to read and ohh so positive I have to say I am delighted i bought it.
The first chapter threw a whole new perpective on things for me, and did have me thinking in a different manner
I think listening to the CD alone each evening will also help as its all positive.
It may or may not change your life but well worth getting.
7 days is a bit heavy as the chapters (7) are longish but a few weeks might just do it.. One of my best buys on Amazon ! :)
Great book because it really works March 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Was a great book, like all his other books really rated it. Give it a 5 star because it really works.
The cd is a great idea. Alot of people out there wont know it but they are creating negative images about theirselves in their subconcious without realising it, the cd will help you get out of this thought process and make you see yourself in a more positive way permanantly. Your life may not change in 7 days, give it about a month and you will notice the changes.
Believe it can work, follow every exersise in the book and you will see results.
Applied NLP March 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This a rather delayed review.I had read this book several months ago. Paul McKenna, shares in this book, some really useful NLP techniques. The accompanying CD is mind blowing and I have experienced positive changes after having read the book and listening to the CD,which I still listen to quite regularly. I found it quite useful to do the exercises in the book, which helped me do some introspection which was quite valuable. To people skeptical of an ex stage hypnotist writing a self help book, all I can say is that the proof is in the pudding. Try reading it,you will enjoy it!
