At last a sensible discussion September 4, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I think this book is excellent. Each of the childhood vaccinations is treated in turn and there are loads of references so you can go and determine whether you think the author is being biased or not. Which helps you make your mind up about whether to trust what he says. There is an excellent summary chapter at the end where he says which vaccinations he would and wouldn't give to his children if they were of vaccinating age again.
Its sensible, well-written and, most of all, in favour of CHOICE for parents. I think one of the biggest problems with the whole MMR debate is that parents feel choice has been taken away from them with no good, reasonable explanation.
Finally the Truth from a Doctor August 3, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Thanks to Dr. Halvorsen for this wonderfully written book explaining what many parents have known all along; there are too many vaccines, they have dubious effectiveness, they are frequently contaminated with animal viruses, they contain potent neurotoxins, they are improperly studied, they have dangerous and unintended side effects, and are given to parents without informed consent. Honest credible answers and thoughtful analysis are given to the questions about whether or not to vaccinate, and the information is helpful for parents in discussing issues of science and medicine with their doctors as they navigate the minefield of vaccinations for their children. Every pregnant woman should read this book and give it to her obstetrician and pediatrician. Change can only be made from the grass roots up because of the ties that bind politicians to the pharmaceutical companies. As more parents become aware of the link between chronic disease and the overvaccination of children and refuse to sacrifice their children in the name of the good of the whole, we will be better able to demand safety and effectiveness from future vaccine policy.
An excellent guide July 31, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
A great book. Informative without scaremongering. This book really gets to grips with the vaccination dilemma. My eldest son is severely autistic and we've grappled with vaccination issues for the last 6 years (our other 2 children are fine). Richard Halvorsen comments on issues I've wondered about for years (e.g. the change in vaccination schedule meaning that babies- such as my eldest son- were receiving mercury at 2,3 and 4 months rather than spread out over the first year). He's not anti-vaccination, he's pro safe and sensible vaccination. Highly recommended.
