5 out of 5 stars Fantastic material for the metal bass player   May 23, 2003

Master of Puppets is probably one of the best metal albums ever recorded, and one of the reasons for this is the contribution made by the late Cliff Burton. Nobody apart from the members of metallica can tell us just how big Cliff's contribution to metallica was outside the studio (by all accounts it was massive),but in the studio Cliffs influence and talent are obvious.
The bass lines recorded for this album are a mixture of simplicity and complexity, from the basic to the very advanced. Any bass player will find something here to both educate them and inspire them, whether this be through technique or through musical ideas.
When Cliff Burton died a bass player was lost and a legend created. And if new generations of bass players continue to be exposed and inspired by his music, his legacy will live forever.

This book is great for any skilled bass. I've just started playing for about 6 months, and Its helped me with my playing. It is a good buy, I strongly sugest it. Oh and Mark Phillips rules!
