Not comprehensive April 20, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Maybe if you are considering courses in art and design this will give you the information you need but it is far from comprehensive and some courses don't get a single mention eg accountancy and finance - if this guide is to be believed they aren't on offer in british universities. Don't waste your money.
DO NOT USE THIS BOOK TO CHOOSE YOUR UNIVERSITY March 24, 2008 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I had been using this book to narrow down my choice of university, when my school Careers and Higher Education Advisor saw me reading it. She informed that it was inaccurate and misrepresented many institutions, and that after reading it herself, she had driven to make a note in the cover of the school library edition to inform students that it is not the best book to use for choosing a university.
She told me about a student she knew who had chosen his university due to the Guardian Guide giving it an "excellent" rating for teaching in his science subject, yet he had left after only a few months, exasperated with repeatedly arriving for laboratory work, only to find no members of staff present at all.
