2 out of 5 stars Sorry to say I found this a disappointing read.   May 4, 2008
I thought that the underlying story was really well thought out and quite exciting.

The revelation that the main characters were lesbians was an interesting development to the story. However towards the end of the book I became quite nauseated by the repetitive and over-played 'lovey-doveyness' between Sam and Tori - it really detracted from the story. I thought that the story line was good enough to have stood on its own without all the unnecessary sloppy bits! In reading this comment do bear in mind that I am a man, however I am not homophobic and I accept that it may be that women derive lot of pleasure in reading this type of romantic writing.

I did expect the story to develop into a second investigation regarding Troy's father - it is unusual to introduce a theme and not pursue it.

5 out of 5 stars hunters way   March 31, 2008
this was my first lesbian book that i had read, and what a book to start with. i had read the reviews from other reader's and thought that i would give it a go, and i am so glad i did. i have never been much of a reader, so i was surprised that i couldn't put it down, you know how it goes "i'll just read one more chapter" and before i knew it, it was 3 am and i had read the book. riviting, funny, suspence, great characters that were believable and all that woven around a murder mystery. if you are thinking about buying this book, then take it from me and all the other reviewers, you will not be dissapointed

5 out of 5 stars buy this book!   December 30, 2007
An excellent read, I was well impressed by the structure and plot created by the author. Truely a book that cannot be put down!

5 out of 5 stars Great Book   December 16, 2007
I really enjoyed this book. It was up to Gerri's usual high standards. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and it was very tastefully done, with some really 'feel good' romance in between the suspense. Another of Gerri's books I finished in one day.

4 out of 5 stars No one could escape from Hunter   August 11, 2007

There are many books with mistery and romance altogheter nowadays but "Hunter's Way" is a special one.
Gerri Hill happens to be a good storyteller and her dialogues are real good ones.

In mistery stories, main characters are usually tough ones as they have to cope with situations that nobody desires to go through. In "Hunter's Way", Tori Hunter plays this part. She's a Homicide Detective in Dallas and has a story with her colleagues at the Police Department. Nobody wishes to be her partner because they are not sure to stay alive at the end of the day. Until, Samantha Kennedy comes along after being tired of a job without emotion.
Hunter's in charge of a muder investigaton and has to deal with her new partner she wants it or not. Both characters are electrifying as well as the murder's plot is. The murderer does not stop and more girls are found dead without having a clue who might be.

Until one day, the two partners click in one paralelled investigation after risking their lives in one tunnel full of water as dark as the night.

Suspense, intrigue, sense of humour, great dialogues and a great falling in love between the two detectives will be through this well written book.

Will the others stand this new partnership? Indeed, you'll have to find out because Gerri Hill announces a new book on Hunter's Series that will be released in December 2007 called "In The Name Of The Father"
