Super book - super subject! August 7, 2004

This book is a marvel, devoted as it is to one of the more 'marginal' holy warrior orders of the crusading era. I was instantly hooked when I saw the title and the book is no disappointment. It treads the thin line of academic exactitude married with compulsive reading, and it treads it very well indeed. The book can't be put down, isn't excessively long and contains 40 plates. How can you go wrong?

This is a book that needs to be read by all of you. So buy a copy now. You won't be disappointed. How can you go wrong with books about leprosy and knights? You can't. It's obvious.
