Fred Secombe is to vicars what James Herriott is to vets - a very gifted writer, with excellent use of words, to achieve light-hearted humour and a wonderful insight into what it is like to live life as a Curate. Brilliant examples of assertion for vicars who find it difficult to stand up to members of their flock, and good insight into clergy life for the lay reader.
