I thought this was a pretty good book, and it was well written. There's a lot of detail about all the experiences, which is interesting, and the author did find out quite a bit about her 'ghosties'. Good book, worth buying.

3 out of 5 stars True Ghost Story?   January 23, 2008

A previous reviewer wrote "i mean, come on - trees don`t just sprout out of the ground and grow several feet high overnight - do they..?". I would add to this that flooded basements aren't suddenly as dry as a bone a couple of hours later! Going back to the overnight rose bush - how much of a coincidence is it that the psychic finally called in is called Ronald Planter?

Nothing in this book adds up, even if it is a galloping read. If the writer truly wanted to know what was on page 5 of the newspapers she found which later disintegrated, all she had to do is consult back issues and find out. I don't believe it is an Incredible True Story at all, though repackaging as a novel wouldn't help much as it is not hair-raising enough. I also disagree with anyone who says it is well written: it is not. It comes across as very amateurish (which perversely helps to make it seem more authentic). My final analysis is - great for passing the time for 2-3 hours, but don't believe everything you read!

1 out of 5 stars Not at all what i expected...   January 23, 2008

I expected a ghost story. I expected to be at least a little bit scared. Neither of these two things happened.
There seems to be a feasible explanation for everything `ghostly` that happens in this book, while some things are just TOO unbelievable - i mean, come on - trees don`t just sprout out of the ground and grow several feet high overnight - do they..? I don`t suppose the neighbour who had been there since `the beginning` could have had anything to do with any of the strange happenings....? No....?
I`m not so sure.
Not recommended as a ghost story.
