Amazon.co.uk Review If you haven't seen Hay House's "Lifestyles" series of gorgeous gift books, there is no better way to acquaint yourself than with publisher/author Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life. A bestseller for many years, You Can Heal Your Life has been republished with bright beautiful illustrations in full living colour and exquisite typography--each and every page is a work of art by artist Joan Perrin Falquet. The timeless message of the book is that we are each responsible for our own reality and "dis-ease". Hay believes we make ourselves ill by having thoughts of self-hatred. She includes a directory of ailments and emotional causes for each with a corresponding affirmation to help overcome the illness. For example, the probable cause of multiple sclerosis is "mental hardness, hard-heartedness, iron will and inflexibility". The healing "thought pattern" would be: "By choosing loving, joyous thoughts, I created a loving joyous world. I am safe and free." --P. Randall Cohan

hits a very very very low note April 6, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
adding guilt to the burden of an ill persons distress with poisonous glib positive thinking, essentially blaming a person for their illness - before they lose their fight with cancer because they just were not thinking positively enough - why not try crystal therapy while your at it
Hits a high note April 6, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I liked this book very much, and the idea that self-hatred causes so much illness is, in my opinion, very true. If you are of a happy disposition then you are going to stand a good chance of being well inside. Self-hatred can eat away at you, this book guides you through a maze of self-discovery.
Astonishing, amazing, must read, life transforming April 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I cannot find words to best describe the effect it had on my life. Read it and apply it. It works!!! You don't have to dismiss the medical help for physical problems but do all the exercises from the book. I also recommend you to get the workbook "Love Yourself, Heal Your Life". I cannot recommend Louise Hay highly enough.

if you are looking for a way to heal yourself and understand why you have gone through what you have gone through in your life then this is the book to buy. Louise L Hay helps you to heal yourself at your own pace and also explains that there is always a reason deep down for what ever illness or pain that you are experiencing. A Fantastic book and highly recommended.
Horrific and Despicable March 5, 2008 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
I agree with another poster - if I could give this book ZERO stars, I would.
My mother has cancer, and reading this book which says that she brought this vial illness upon herself is just despicable. What on earth gives the author of this book the right to tell people who are dying of cancer and other terminal illnesses that they did it to themselves????
This book isn't just mumbo-jumbo, it's a smug, self-centred, holier-than-thou piece of fictional rubbish which tells the reader they are a bad, bad person and their illness and any other problems they have in their life is their well-deserved punishment.
That's not mumbo-jumbo, that's extremely dangerous claptrap that will only serve to hurt those people who need help the most.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS DESPICABLE BOOK.
