5 out of 5 stars Great to help you get your head round riding the snow!   January 17, 2007
I bought this book after a disastrous first snowboarding lesson with an instructor who was 'too cool for school'. Not necessarily his fault, he was a teenager and seemed to find it difficult to talk to girls.
I wanted to know what my arms and legs should be doing to enable me to stay upright and basically move on the board! This book really explained everything so well and I was able to visualise and think about it properly before my next go on the board.
It helped so much, I love boarding now and recommend this book to anyone starting out.

4 out of 5 stars Great for women - and men should take a sneak read too!   December 23, 1999

I bought this book for my wife and she loves it. Snowboarding can seem a bit macho-dominated for some women, and this book gets past all that to teach snowboarding in a slightly more feminine way. In fact, by avoiding the teenage male nonsense and focusing on the pure sport, it's a great way for men to learn as well - so guys, buy it for your girlfriends but read it yourselves!

5 out of 5 stars One of the best guides to women's snowboarding   April 18, 1999

When I went searching for a book on snowboarding, I didn't want just any book, written by any person. I went in search of a guide written by women for women. This has to be the best guide for not only beginning women boarders, but also for experienced boarders looking to refine their skills. The book takes a very basic approach to boarding, then gradually challenges you to get you just that one step closer to being better. Some of the topics include: Information about all Women camps, what you need to prepare yourself - clothing, equipment, etc., what to expect on the slopes, explains the different style of boarding and what might work best for you, how to take care and store your boots, boards and clothes...endless tips for just aout everything you can think of. I would definitely recommend this book to any and every woman boarder I meet. Ride like a girl.

This book is easy to read and chock-full of information. The pictures are strategically placed so that the reader is able to visulaize everything from how a drill works to what type of equipment is out there for women.

This book helped me get over my anxiety and fear of learning how to snowboard for the first time. I'm cured! Not to mention it's female perspective on the sport is refreshing and enjoyable to read.
